WEST CHESTER,
Pa.- The Millersville women's lacrosse season came to a close with an 18-8 defeat at No. 2 West Chester Saturday.
The Golden Rams finished the regular season with a spotless 17-0 record. Millersville finished 5-11.
The Marauders played even with the Golden Rams in the second half and held a 5-2 advantage in the third quarter but were outscored 12-1 in the first half. Seven different Marauders contributed a goal, and
Shannon Meder led the way with two.
West Chester held a 19-7 advantage in shots, and it took full advantage of the Marauders' 15 first-half miscues. Millersville played far cleaner lacrosse with just four turnovers in the second half but the early deficit was too much to overcome.
The 2024 Marauders were a young squad as only three seniors graduate:
Kya Effinger, Liv Genoveese and
Victoria Labrecque.
