FROSTBURG, Md. – The Millersville women's tennis team narrowly got past Frostburg State in a 4–3 win to improve to 8–6 this season.
After Frostburg State took the first doubles match, the Marauders battled back, with
Sophie Lanius and
Lauren Hayes handling their opponents 6–1, and
Chloe Abramowitz and
Sido Rault clinching the point with a 6–3 win.
The doubles point proved to be pivotal, as the teams split the singles matches. Lanius and Hayes both won their individual matches, Lanius by the score of 6–0, 6–1 and Hayes with a 6–3, 6–1 result, and
Hui Jen Soo clinched the victory with a 7–5, 4–6, 6–2 decision.
The Marauders have three matches this upcoming week, starting with a PSAC showdown against Shepherd at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 in Shpeherdstown, W.Va.
