Millersville wrestling matches program high for NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. - Matching a program high, the Millersville wrestling team had seven members named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
Of the seven members selected for this award, five were previously recognized while two are new recipients of this honor. The honorees include Brandon Connor, Craig Cook, Jordan Espinosa, Bishop McCoy, Aidan Micheli, Matt Morris, and Andrew Vogelbacher.
To be selected wrestlers must have competed in four competition dates while also holding either 3.5 cumulative grade point average, a 3.25 GPA as a national qualifier, or a 3.0 GPA as an All-American.
Cook is now a five time honoree while Espinosa collected his fourth recognition. Connor is now a three time member followed by McCoy and Vogelbacher who reached two-time honoree status. Micheli and Morris are recipients for the first time in their athletic careers.
Cook, a criminology major, boasted a 22-11 record while placing second at the Super Region 1 Championships and named All-PSAC Second Team. Connor, an economics major, posted a 23-12 record while being a three-time NCAA qualifier and All-PSAC Third Team member. Vogelbacher, a dual major in history and education, had his season cut short due to injury but made an impact as he was 8-6 this season and earned All-PSAC Third Team recognition. Mccoy, a applied engineer major, also had his season cut short due to injury but posted a 11-7 record on the mat this season. Micheli, majoring in business administration, went 17-17 this season as a true freshman while placing fifth in the 141-pound weight class. Espinosa, a school counciling major, went 2-4 in the 285-pound weight class. Morris, a special education major, went 8-9 in the 149-pound weight class.
