Millersville lacrosse honor seniors against Shippensburg

The Millersville Marauders (4-8, 2-6) will encounter Shippensburg Raiders (2-11, 0-8) for the second time this season. Millersville secured a 17-11 win when they faced Shippensburg earlier this season. The Marauders aim to extend their win streak as they upset No. 25 Bloomsburg 18-12 on the road earlier this week. The Raiders are on a four-game losing streak, with their most current 19-8 defeat against No. 2 West Chester.

With a 2-6 record in PSAC East play, Millersville seeks another win to honor the senior's hard work against conference opponent Shippensburg.
Rachel Keeney, the Marauders' leading goal scorer, has notched 29 goals in 12 games, averaging 2.42 goals, and boasts a 0.846 shots on goal percentage. In the Marauder's most recent victory against Bloomsburg, Keeney netted four goals, marking it the fourth time this season she has scored four plus goals in a game. Ashlyn Simonetti, closely trailing, has recorded 23 goals, including three major goals and assists to give Millersville the go-ahead win over Bloomsburg.
Ella Linthicum's keen field awareness has enabled her to become Millersville's top assister with 18. Additionally, she has also scored 15 goals so far this season.
A first-year player, KC O'Neil,l has been a defensive staple for Millersville in net. In her last two games, O'Neill has a 14 goals-against average along with a .511 save percentage. She has made 31 saves, 14 of them coming from their most recent game against the Huskies.
As a team, the Marauders have scored 114 goals, 48 assisted. Millersville, very accurate in their shot selection as they post a .800 shots on goal percentage and average 25.5 shots per game. They have converted 21 of 42 free position attempts, with a 0.500 average. From a defensive standpoint, they have caused 81 turnovers, collected 190 ground balls, and a .795 successful clear percentage.

The Raiders' offense is primarily orchestrated through Sara Vosburg, who leads the Raiders in goals scored with 36, along with eight assists. Keegan Dings, Shippensburg's second leading goal scorer, has notched 17 goals. Both Ali Pioli and Payton Margerum are tied for leading the team with assists tallying 11 apiece.
Kayla Vosburg serves as the primary goalkeeper for the Raiders as she has started and played in all 13 games. In the last 13 games, Vosburg has logged 777:17 minutes, with 207 goals against, and a 15.98 goal-against average. Vosburg is ranked No. 1 in the PSAC standings leading in saves per game with 10.77.
As a team, they average 9.08 goals a game with a l.734 shot on goal percentage. They have scored 118 goals as their opponents have outscored them to 208. As a team, they average 23.5 shots per game while their opponents average 34 shots a game.. Defensively, they have logged 242 ground balls, 124 caused turnovers, and have a .771 successful clear percentage.

The record between these two programs sits at 37-25 with the Marauders holding the lead and a five game win streak. Millersville aims to clinch their third PSAC East win and send the Raiders to a five game losing streak. The last time these two teams encountered each other was easlier this season where Millersville ran away with the 17-11 win.
