ABOUT THE GAME

  • After playing four of the last five on the road and navigating that stretch with a 3-2 record, the Marauders return home to Pucillo Gymnasium, continuing its challenging early-season schedule with Dominican. It is Millersville's fifth game in 10 days. Under Joe Clinton, Dominican has won at least 19 games each of the last seven seasons and has four NCAA Tournament appearances in that stretch. Head coach Joe Clinton ranks 16th among active Division II coaches in career wins. It is the first-ever meeting between Millersville and Dominican. Of Millersville’s first eight opponents, seven won at least 16 games last season, and all eight produced winning seasons. Millersville’s only two losses have come on the road against teams that played the NCAA Tournament last season and are currently a combined 10-3. Both of Millersville’s losses came with a starter out of the lineup. Millersville has now played four of its seven games without its opening game starting lineup.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Drew Stover has scored 20 or more points in five of seven games and is coming off a season-high 26 points at Slippery Rock. He is one of five PSAC players averaging better than 20 points per game, and he’s second in the PSAC in field goal percentage (.720). He’s one of two players shooting over 60% from the field. Stover is also averaging career highs in rebounding. He’s pulled down at least eight rebounds four times, and Millersville is 4-0 in those games. In Stover’s career, Millersville is 6-1 when he has a double-double. Stover’s defense has also been top tier. He led the PSAC in blocks last season, and he’s averaging more this season, at 1.6 per game. He currently ranks fourth in the PSAC in blocks, and he totaled a career-high four steals at Slippery Rock.
  • Saraj Ali has been among the Marauders’ most consistent performers. He’s scored double-figures in all six of the games he’s played. Over his last five games, Ali has averaged 13.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.4 assists per game. He’s recorded at least five rebounds in five straight.
  • With starting point guard Jahme Ested sidelined, Millersville inserted Aamir Hurst into the starting lineup for the first time. In his two starts, Hurst scored 18 and 10, averaged 3.5 assists per game, and recorded a career-high five steals on Saturday at Slippery Rock. He sank 4 of 5 3-pointers and made 7 of 12 for his season high in points at California.
  • Montell Cooper has at least one assist in every game and at least one steal in six of seven. Cooper ranks 14th in the PSAC in assists per game and fourth in assist/turnover ratio (2.6). He is Millersville’s team leader and ranks 12th in the PSAC in steals. Cooper is also zeroing in on 1,000 career points. He enters the game with 919.
  • Millersville is the only team in the PSAC ranked in the top five in both scoring offense (84.7) and scoring defense (71.4). The Marauders also led the conference in field goal percentage at 49.0. Millersville has shot over 50% from the field in four of seven games. The Marauders have been particularly good at home, averaging 89.3 points per game on 53.6% shooting. The Marauders are coming off their best defensive outing of the season. The 52 points allowed to Slippery Rock were the fewest in a PSAC road game since 2022. The Marauders forced a season-high 26 turnovers and recorded a season-high 18 steals. Millersville is 5-0 when holding opponents to under 35% shooting from three.

Last year, the Chargers were 5-8 on the road and 11-2 at home. Jaden Honis leads four Chargers averaging double figures with 18.0 points per game. He made four 3-pointers against both East Stroudsburg and Franklin Pierce.
