PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Millersville men's soccer team fell to Jefferson 3-1 after the Rams scored three goals in the second half.
The Marauders opened the non-conference with intensity and energy, jumping to a 1-0 lead on an early goal by Richy Valverde in the first two minutes of play. Millersville held the lead heading into the second half, though the energy quickly shifted to Jefferson as Gabe Paz tied the game with a goal in just five minutes into the half.
The Rams continued on the attack, scoring back-to-back goals in the 77th and 83rd minute. The Marauders were unable to regain any offense in the last few minutes of play.

Millersville, now 7-6 overall, return to PSAC East play on Oct. 26 against East Stroudsburg. It is a pivotal match-up as the Marauders are 4-2 in the division and sit a point out of first place.
THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH STEVE WIDDOWSON
- Overall thoughts from the match: "Today was not a day for our preferred style of play and we struggled to execute. However, we need to show the versatility to adapt and adjust and we lacked the character to do that today."
- Thoughts on the teams performance on the road: "Overall we do need to be better on the road but I don't think there's is a particular reason for it other than the guys applying themselves better and rising up to challenges."
