ABOUT THE MATCH

• Millersville, 1-0, plays its home opener on Wednesday against visiting Holy Family, which is 0-1 following a loss to West Chester. Millersville went 3-1-4 at home last season and are 11-3-1 in home openers under Coach Steve Widdowson. 

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

• Millersville opened its season last Sunday against Ashland. The Marauders pulled off a 3-2 win over the Eagles thanks to late goals by seniors Mike Kreider and Bob Hennessey.
• Last season the Marauders finished just shy of the PSAC Tournament with an overall record of 10-3-5. The team outscored opponents 39-15, averaging over two goals per game.
• Offensive powerhouses Bob Hennessey and and Zander Leik return for the Marauders. The two combined for 21 goals and 6 assists. Hennessey scored two goals in the opener, including the game-winner. Leik recorded an assist. 
• All-American defender, Aaron Maynard returns for the Marauder defense, along with senior Mike Kreider. Last season, Millersville allowed only 15 goals, keeping opponents under one goal per game. 
   

SCOUTING THE TIGERS 

• Holy Family concluded its 2022 season with an overall record of 12-6-2, finishing second in the CACC.
• Last season the Tigers scored a total of 31 goals, averaging 1.55 goals per game. Leading goal scorers Sean Touey (8) and Gavin Rowan (7) return this season, along with several upperclassman midfielders and defenders.
• The team opened their season on Aug. 27 against West Chester. Although the Tigers suffered a 5-1 loss, they were able to outshoot the Golden Rams 7-5 in the second half.

SERIES HISTORY

• Millersville holds a 10-3 lead in the all-time series which dates back to 1992. The teams have not played since 2015, a match that Millersville won, 2-0. Millersville has won the last three meetings at home. Holy Family's lone win at Millersville came in 2007, which was Coach Steve Widdowson's first season with the Marauders.
