The Marauders tie on the road against ESU

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - For 90 minutes, the Marauders put everything they had onto the field against one of their toughest PSAC East opponents. Millersville was aggressive on the attack, but neither team could find the back of the net.

Millersville (5-0-2, 4-0-3 PSAC East) out-shot the Warriors (4-0-3, 1-0-3 PSAC E) 8-4 in the first half. The Marauders came out with the same type intensity after halftime, taking eight more shots on net, and creating seven corner attempts. However, neither team could finish on their goal scoring opportunities, resulting in a draw.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • The Marauders were able to draw 14 corner kicks, while only allowing three.
  • Michael Dempsey lead the team with three shots. Richy Valverde, Jake Altimore, and Danny Gartner each had a pair as well.
  • Travis Holliday collects his fourth shut out of the season, with five saves.

GAME NOTES

  • The Marauders lead series 14-7-5, with the last tie coming in October 2022.

POST GAME REACTION FROM HEAD COACH, STEVE WIDDOWSON

  • Key takeaway from the match: "We weren't quite at our best tonight but I cannot fault the effort. Very happy to get another shutout and we defended with great commitment. We created enough great opportunities to sneak out with a win, but unfortunately our final touch just let us down. It's another point on the board though and a further reminder that every game is going to be incredibly tough."

The Marauders return home to Pucillo Field, where they will take on the West Chester Golden Rams, Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
