LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Millersville University's
Sophie Lanius was voted PSAC East Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year by the division's coaches, and four of her teammates earned All-PSAC East recognition.
Hui Jen Soo landed on the first team singles and joined
Noelle Htwar as a first team doubles pick.
Chloe Abramowitz and
Maria Ojeda were named second team singles and doubles.
Lanius gives Millersville the freshman of the year award winner for the third season in a row. Lanius produced a 6-1 record against PSAC East competition playing in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the lineup.
Soo posted a 3-0 record in the No. 2 spot and finished the PSAC East slate with a perfect 7-0 singles record. She and Htwar finished the season 10-8 overall with a 6-1 PSAC East record in doubles. Htwar is now a three-time first team pick in doubles.
Abramowitz was the freshman of the year in 2022 and earned her first All-PSAC East honors this season. She went 14-9 overall and posted a spotless 7-0 record against the PSAC East while playing in the No. 3 and No. 4 flights. The Abramowitz-Ojeda pairing went 6-0 at No. 2 doubles against the PSAC East. Ojeda earned her third All-PSAC East singles honor and her first doubles honor.
As a team, Millersville finished in second place in the PSAC East standings and reached the PSAC Semifinals for the third year in a row.
