
Track & Field continues strong spring at Hopkins / Loyola Invitational

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Millersville outdoor track and field team competed at the Hopkins / Loyola Invite in Baltimore, Md. and saw multiple athletes hit PSAC qualifying marks, personal bests and season bests. Millersville's participation was cut short due to inclement weather in the area. The Marauders finished their day in second place with a team score of 51 points, seven and a half back from the leader, Johns Hopkins.
Seya Trujillo highlighted the day with a first-place finish and personal-best mark of 128-01 in the discus. Sarah Hessler followed in second place with a personal-best distance of 123-04.
"It was exciting to see Hannah Sweda, Lily LaBure and De'Asia Holloman hit qualifying marks," said head coach Andy Young. "Seya Trujillo and Sarah Hessler both hit season-best marks in the discus, while Hannah Woelfling hit a season-best mark in the shot put. A good meet for us despite cutting things short due to weather."

Millersville will be back in action on Saturday, April 29 at the Paul Kaiser Classic in Shippensburg, Pa. Action is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Woelfling and Darian Hauf each recorded a second-place finish at the invite. Woelfling hit a season-best 43-00 ½ in the shot put, while Hauf reached a height of 12-05 ¼ in the pole vault.
- In the 100-meter dash, Holloman hit a personal-record and PSAC qualifying mark of 12.27 while taking third place.
- LaBure ran a PSAC qualifying time of 12.66 in the 100-meter hurdles, which marked a personal best. LaBure placed fifth in the event.
- Sweda hit a PSAC qualifying mark in the 5,000-meter run after recording a personal-best time of 18:41.67. Sweda's time placed her at six in the event.
- The Millersville "A" 4x100-relay team recorded a season-best time of 47.69 and took second place. The team consisted of Aurora Conrad, Arianna Kouakou, Emma Elwell and Heather Lesinski.
