HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Millersville came within a point of its first win of the spring semester, but Ashland's narrow win in doubles and wins in the top three singles flights pulled it through to a 4-3 win over the Marauders.
Millersville (1-4) received three points from the bottom half of the singles lineup.
Zach Pernia led 4-2 when his opponent retired. At No. 5 singles, Jasper de Konig scored a 7-5, 6-2 win, and
Yash Kothari won by an identical score in the No. 6 slot. Ashland, however, won the other three singles matches with Rodrigo Ludgero edging
Lino Morin in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).
Millersville's top doubles duo of
Dylan Tull and
Lino Morin scored a 6-4 win, improving to 2-0 as a pairing.
