Miller sparked the Marauders' with accurate shooting, splashing 3-of-4 3-pointers and 6-of-6 free throws. Mahoney scored 16 and Ingram tallied 14 points, seven assists and six boards, which were all career highs.

Millersville shot 48.3% from the field and after making just one 3-pointer in previous three games, the Marauders sank 4-of-7 and also made a season-high 23 free throws (23-of-29).

Millersville grew its lead to as many as 27 (38-11) on Ingram's lay-up with 3:52 remaining in the second quarter. At that point, Millersville had limited The Rock to 3-of-25 shooting from the field.

Slippery Rock closed the half on a 10-4 run and then outscored Millersville 24-22 in the third quarter and 26-19 in the fourth, but Millersville's lead was never truly in jeopardy. Slippery Rock cut it down to 10 points on a couple of occasions in the final minute, but the Marauder reserves did enough at the line to keep the advantage in double-figures.

POSTGAME REACTION FROM HEAD COACH KIRA MOWEN
  • Overall thoughts on the game: "After the tough overtime game we played last night, the fact that we came out in those first two quarters and were really offensive minded and still had the energy to go is a promising thing for our team. I think how we prepared our girls in the preseason with the running and conditioning got us going and we are able to withstand these back-to-back games."
  • What did you do in the short turn-around time to get the win: "We made some changes, and we had a team meeting last night to watch some film. We got our girls mentally focused and prepared for what Slippery Rock was going to do. Our zone last night was great against Cal U. To keep it consistent, we continued that trend and found success."
  • Stand out performances: "Our bench had 42 points, when your bench is giving you that much point production and defensive efforts you are always going to be in games."
  • Next game against Jefferson: "Jefferson is a great opponent, we as a team need to get off our feet, get some rest, ice, good food and watch film."
