Marauders host Shepherd with PSAC East title on the line

ABOUT THE MATCH

The Marauders host their last regular season game against the Shepherd Rams with hopes of clinching the PSAC East Championship title. Their recent wins against West Chester and Bloomsburg allow the Marauders the ability to control their postseason fate. With a win or tie against Shepherd, Millersville would secure a first-place finish and a first round bye in the PSAC Tournament. If the Marauders were to lose, the results of the West Chester versus East Stroudsburg game would determine the East.

The Marauders (8-1-2) hold the first place position in the PSAC East standings, two points above Bloomsburg and three points against West Chester. Bloomsburg has no more games remaining in the regular season. Only West Chester can catch the Marauders in the standings.
Millersville has won their last six competitions, all against PSAC East opponents.
Through 16 games, the Marauders have scored 29 goals while holding opponents to just 15. Senior Bob Hennessey leads the offense with seven goals and five assists. Zander Leik and Michael Dempsey follow behind with four. Seven additional Marauders have also added to the total this season.

Shepherd is coming into Friday's game with a 3-10-3 record overall and a 1-8-2 record in conference. Their last match took place on Oct. 30 against Pitt Johnstown where the Rams claimed a 2-1 victory with a late penalty kick by Mac Long in the 76th minute.
Andrew West leads the Rams' offense with six goals on the season. Mac Long, Ryan Fisher, and Asong Nkemanjong have also contributed with a handful of goals and assists.

The Marauders lead the all-time series 13-2 with a perfect 7-0 record in conference.
Shepherd's only wins in the series came in 1994 and 1996.
Millersville has scored 25 goals in the last 10 games against Shepherd, while only allowing the Rams to score two.
