Millersville picks up one win, drops three to D1 foes at George Mason Duals

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Marauders wrestling team went 1-3 on the road in the Mason Duals, getting a win over Williams College and losses to three Division I programs.
The Marauders captured a 33-10 win over Williams with Bryce Beatty (125), Devin Flannery (133), and Aiden Micheli (141) helping the Marauders earn the early 15-0 lead with technical falls. At 149 pounds, Craig Cook added four more points on the board with his major decision. To close out this match-up, Bishop McCoy earned a technical fall over Tim Brown.
Flannery went 2-1 on the day with a technical fall (18-2) and decision. Flannery's lone loss was to nationally-ranked No. 26 Maximilian Leete from American.
Cook recorded a 2-1 record with two major decisions. Cook suffered his first loss of the season to Kaden Cassidy from George Mason to leave him at a 7-1 record this season.
Another strong performance came from Brandon Connor who also tallied a 2-1 record. Evan Maag from George Mason edged Connor 7-6 in the last dual of the day.
At 197 pounds, Riley O'Boyle stood at 2-1 on the day with two decision wins and fell to Liam Volk-Klos from American.
McCoy rounded out the day for the Marauders adding a 2-1 performance to his record. McCoy also suffered his first loss of the season to William Jarrell from American and is now 7-1.

IMPRESSIONS ON THE DAY: "Definitely happy with our effort today. We wrestled hard the entire time. We have some things we need to clean up but they are very fixable. These guys are very coachable so they'll get it right."

ON STANDOUT PERFORMANCES: "I don't usually like to single guys out. Good or bad. But props to Aidan Micheli. He's a true freshman. He only won one match today but wrestled all four (three against D1 competition) and did so with a ton of energy. We tried to sub out different guys in our lineup throughout the day but we only brought one 141 and he got after it all four times."

ON THE UPCOMING SHORTY HITCHCOCK OPEN: "We are excited to host the Shorty once again. It's a great tournament with a lot of tough competition. It will be another great day of wrestling."
