Marauders get clutch win on the road

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Millersville pulled off an unbelievable 2-1 comeback to upset East Stroudsburg on the road.

Millersville played stellar defense in the first half and restricted East Stroudsburg from finding the back of the net. Millersville did not have any shots in the first half but Bella Fiorenza was a defensive staple for the Marauders. The Warriors took eight shots and Fiorenza had two crucial saves to help keep the slate clean going into the second half.

The Warriors scored an early goal in the second half off a break away. Nia Chinapoo dribbled the ball up the field and took her shot outside the 18-yard box and nailed the ball in the back of the net in the 56th minute of play to take the early 1-0 lead. The Marauders resiliently fought back and found the equalizer in the 74th minute of play. Kyleigh Straub took a corner kick for the Marauders and found the feet of Maddie Zielke who expertly finished the ball in the back of the net. The Marauders started to gain confidence as they took five shots in the second half placing four on net. With less than 10 seconds on the clock, the Marauders took advantage of a free possession kick. With an attacking mindset Madeline O'Donnell played the ball to the top of the 18-yard box, Caroline Wood had a quick turn and strike to place the ball in the far left side netting to clinch the 2-1 win for the Marauders.

The Marauders improved to a 5-6-3 overall record and 5-6-2 PSAC East record. The Marauders look to continue their win streak as they travel back home to face Shippensburg on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
