MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Marauders came into Wednesday's match looking to build on their latest victory over Shepherd. They did just that, dominating the Shippensburg Raiders en route to a 3-1 conference victory.
Millersville's possession advantage was evident early, as most of the match's first fifteen minutes were played in the Shippensburg half. The Raiders scored their lone tally when Marauders goalkeeper Travis Holiday fouled Cam Henry in the box as he was driving towards the net. This resulted in a penalty kick for Victor Votera, who knocked it into the right side of the net.
With a hair over 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Fallou Cisse made his much-awaited return and the Millersville offense immediately came to life. Millersville procured its first real scoring chance of the match just a couple of minutes later when Bob Hennessey missed tying the game by a hair, ripping a shot off of the crossbar from 10 yards out.
The tying Marauder goal came a couple of minutes after that when Haven Thomas banked a 20-yard try off of the right post and in. The hosts grabbed a 2-1 lead on a Hennessey take from even farther out, finding twine on the right side of the net. Zander Leik set him up beautifully on the goal.
The Marauders extended their lead just a few minutes into the second half. Richy Valverde drove up the right side and crossed to Connor Fiadino for the tap-in and his second goal of the season.
The Marauders hope to push their winning streak to three when they travel to Lock Haven on Oct. 14th.

POSTGAME REACTION FROM STEVE WIDDOWSON:
"It was a good win. It was a good, disciplined performance. I think we started off very brightly, really controlled the game, and moved the ball great. We just didn't have a final product, and then they got the penalty kick, which happens. Fom there, I think our response was really good. We went back and not only leveled it but then went ahead as well. So I think the response was fantastic. The guys coming off the bench gave us a really good lift, and from that point, I thought we were really good. We created a lot of opportunities. We played a great style, which is something that's important to us. But we know there are still a lot of other areas we need to be better with as we continue to progress through the second half of PSAC play."
