MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Marauders were looking to return to the win column prior to this weekends PSAC East matches and the team delivered on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of the Bowie State Bulldogs.

Millersville (8-6, 0-1 PSAC) dominated the first set against Bowie (2-3, 0-1 CIAA) picking up a 25-12 win. The second and third sets were much closer as both resulted in 25-23 win for 'Ville. The Marauders have recorded sweeps in seven of their eight wins this season and are 4-2 in the friendly confines of Pucillo Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
(25-12, 25-23, 25-23)
- Leading 5-4 in the first set, the Marauders went on an 11-point run to go ahead 16-5. Mya Cascario recorded three aces during the streak while Kylie Airesman picked up a pair of kills. The Bulldogs never got within 10 following the 'Ville rally.
- The second set started off evenly played, as there were five ties early on. With the score tied 9-9 the Bulldogs took the first real lead of the set as they went ahead 14-9. A four-point rally highlighted by a pair of Laurel Samko kills closed the gap as the Marauders were able to force a tie at 18-18. With Bowie leading 23-21 'Ville rose to the occasion and scored the final five points of the set, with the final two coming on a pair of Emma Ludwig kills.
- Bowie came out swinging in the third set, taking an early 5-1 lead. A kill from Airesman tied the set back up at 16-16 as she started a four-point rally that gave 'Ville a 19-16 advantage. With the match all but over, and Millersville leading 23-19, the Bulldogs scored five straight to force a tie at 23-23. A Becca Dalstad kill, and a Bowie attack error ended the match and secured the Marauder sweep.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ariesman and Ludwig tied for the team lead in kills with eight.
- Cascario led the team with four aces, one off her season high.
- Ludwig recorded 24 assists as the primary setter while Emily Hoffman added seven assists.
- Dalstad led in digs with 19 while Hoffman and Cascario followed with eight each.
