KINSTON, N.C. - Luke Trainer and
Chase Simmons both hit home runs, and a nine-run fifth inning propelled Millersville a 20-4 victory over Nyack in a run-rule shortened game Saturday in North Carolina.
Simmons' home run--the first of his career--was of the inside-the-park variety in the sixth inning, and he also reached base with three walks and scored three times.
Darin Miller went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, a walk and three runs.
Jimmy Losh went 3-for-6 with three runs and two RBIs from his leadoff spot.
Tyler Wright drove in four runs, three of which came on a bases-clearing triple in the fourth.
The 20 runs scored were the most by the Marauders since totaling 21 against Mansfield on April 13, 2019.
Ben Wilchacky improved to 2-0 on the season by tossing four innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• While Nyack jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Millersville needed just three batters to tie the game as
Jimmy Losh, who reached on a bunt single, worked himself around the bases with a wild pitch, stolen base and passed ball. Miller drove in a pair with a single that gave Millersville a 3-1 lead after one. Wright drove in a run in the third, and in the fourth, Trainer homered, and Wright hit his three-run triple.
• The floodgates opened in the fifth as Millersville scored nine runs on four hits, four walks, two hit batters and an error. In the sixth, Simmons raced around the bases for a home run, Losh singled in Tasso Kovack, who had reached on a double.
Keegan Soltis hit a ground-rule double that plated Losh and capped Millersville's scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The game was called after Nyack's top of the seventh with Millersville leading by more than 15 runs. Ten different Marauders recorded a hit and six had at least one RBI.

Sam Morris both struck out two in scoreless innings of relief work.
NOTES
• Morris' appearance in the seventh was his collegiate debut. Kovack doubled in his first collegiate at bat. Soltis is now 2-for-2 with a walk in three at bats this season.
John Seibert scored the first two runs of his career and also drew the first two walks of his career.
• Millersville is now 3-0 all-time against Nyack, winning the three games by a combined score of 47-9.
