One up, one down for Marauders against IUP

KINSTON, N.C. - Matt Shamany tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, and Chase Simmons homered for a 5-1 Millersville win over Indiana (Pa.) in game one of Sunday's doubleheader. IUP, however, salvaged a split with a 13-9 win in game two.

Millersville rallied from behind in both games The one run allowed in game one was the fewest runs allowed by Millersville it its six games this season. Jimmy Losh totaled three hits and scored four runs on the day. 2021 PSAC East Pitcher of the Year Jeff Taylor made his season debut in game one as well.

IUP tied the game in the fifth with two passed balls and a wild pitch. Then, in the sixth, a leadoff walk turned into two runs on Torrey Roper's home run. IUP scored another run on a passed ball later in the inning. The Marauders went down in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
