MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's basketball team opened up PSAC play against Edinboro (3-3, 0-1 PSAC) on Friday night and defeated the Fighting Scots, 82-70. The Marauders (5-1, 1-0 PSAC) are on a four-game win streak and will look to continue their momentum in their second matchup of the week on Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders piled on 27-points by the end of the first quarter, leading the Scots by 10. Edinboro challenged Millersville throughout the match and cut their deficit down to eight-points late in the second, but a fast break layup by Marin Miller got the Marauders rolling to tally five more points before entering the half.
Millersville outscored Edinboro 22-19 in the third and tallied an additional 23-points to end the game. The Marauders scored at least 22-points in all quarters except the second, where the Scots held Millersville to scoring just 10. Taylor Langan led all scored with 22 points, while shooting a very effective 8-9 from the floor, 1-2 behind the arc, and landing all five free-throws. Brenna Ortwein tallied a double-double, scoring 16-points and grabbing 14 rebounds.Â

GAME HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Late in the first quarter, Ortwein made a layup to extend the Marauders lead to 10-points. Ortwein then grabbed a defensive rebound and assisted Langan in a fastbreak layup to broaden the gap to 12-points.
- Makiah Shaw made a jumper from the floor which gave the Marauders their biggest lead of the night by 22-points.
- Millersville landed two back-to-back threes in the fourth quarter from Jaida Parker and Langan. Â

- The Marauders held the edge in second chance points (11-10), bench points (23-13), points in the paint (36-28), and fast break points (24-11).
- The Marauders forced 17Â Edinboro turnovers.
- Millersville finished the game shooting 55.6% from the floor, 46.2% from beyond the arch, and 72.7% from the free-throw line. They shot a team-high 83.3% from the floor in the second quarter.
- Miller dished out five assists and tallied seven points. Â
