ABOUT THE GAMES

  • Millersville has won six consecutive games for the second time this season and is the first Marauders’ club since the 2006-07 PSAC Championship team to perform the feat. On Saturday, the Marauders can win seven in a row for the first time since 2012-13. The last time Millersville won seven-straight PSAC East games was in 2002-03--a team that won the East with an 11-1 division record. Millersville is also shooting for its fourth consecutive road win. That hasn’t been accomplished at Millersville since 2006-07.
We've got everyone starting to play well on offense. We had four and almost five in double figures (Wednesday). We need to keep getting that offensive production and making plays down the stretch.
Casey Stitzel, Millersville head coach

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • James Sullivan has played at a different level during Millersville’s six-game winning streak, averaging 19.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He’s shot an incredible 63.4% from the field, made 11-of-22 3-pointers and 17-of-20 (.850) free throws. He’s scored at least 21 in four of the last six. Before this stretch, he had topped 20 points six times in his first three full seasons.
  • Balanced scoring has also been key in the 7-1 stretch with five players averaging between 10.6 and 14.9 points per game. Millersville has had at least four players score double figures in five of the last eight games. That stretch mirrors the successful 6-0 start to the season in which four Marauders hit double figures in four of those six games. Millersville is 9-1 when at least four players score 10 or more points.
  • Caden Najdawi ranks fifth in the PSAC with 8.6 rebounds per game and tied for fourth with 1.6 blocks per game. He is one of three players in the conference to rank in the top 10 in both categories. Najdawi has blocked at least one shot in the last seven games, averaging 2.1 blocks per game in that stretch where Millersville has gone 6-1. Najdawi matched a season-high Wednesday with four blocks vs. Slippery Rock. He’s also grabbed eight or more rebounds in four-straight games. Wednesday, Najdawi recorded his fourth double-double of the season and the 23rd of his career.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

  • Bloomsburg has lost five games in a row, allowing at least 90 points in each of the last three games and in five of the last eight. Bloomsburg ranks 16th in the PSAC in scoring defense and 18th in field goal percentage defense. Justin Anderson’s 18.5 points per game ranks him fourth in the PSAC in points per game, and he’s scored double figures in all but one game this season, including 17 against Millersville in the first match-up. Millersville is one of only two teams to have held Bloomsburg under 40% shooting from the field.

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville: Millersville 77, Slippery Rock 69 (Jan. 26, 2022) - The Marauders led for more than 36 of the game's 40 minutes and never trailed after a Jaden Faulkner lay-up made the score 4-2 with 16:34 to play in the first half. James Sullivan, who has scored at least 21 points in four of the last six games, continued his lights-out shooting, hitting 8-of-12 shots from the field and 8-of-9 free throws. Khari Williams totaled 18 points and drilled a dagger of a baseline jumper in the final minute. Caden Najdawi recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 boards while also matching a season-high with four blocks.
  • Bloomsburg: Shippensburg 94, Bloomsburg 60 (Jan. 26 2022) - Senior forward Travis Elmore and junior guard Justin Anderson led the Huskies in the scoring column with 19 points apiece. Elmore shot 9-12 from the field while adding six rebounds, two blocks and an assist to his stat sheet in 28 minutes of play.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BLOOMSBURG

  • Millersville has swept the season series with Bloomsburg in each of the previous two seasons. A win Saturday would give Millersville three consecutive season sweeps over Bloomsburg for the first time since winning eight-consecutive games between 2001-02 and 2004-05. Millersville has scored at least 83 points in each of the last four games, and each of those games has been decided by least 12 points. While Millersville has won five in a row, Bloomsburg won six in a row between 2016-2018.  Before winning at Bloomsburg in 2020 and 2019, Millersville had lost 10 in a row in Nelson Field House.
  • The Last Meeting vs. Bloomsburg - Millersville 92, Bloomsburg 60 (Jan. 15, 2022) Millersville had a comfortable lead at the half with a score of 41-25, but extended their lead even further to put Bloomsburg away by the end of regulation. Millersville shot an impressive 67.3% from the field, and 62.5% in threes. Their defense held the Huskies (3-8, 2-5 PSAC) to 24-of-61 from the field, and 3-of-14 from behind the arc. James Sullivan led the Marauders in points, scoring 21 on the day. Sullivan was 8-11 in the field and 4-5 in threes. Four additional Marauders reached double digits including: Caden Najdawi, Jaden Faulkner, Drew Stover, and Ryan Davis.
