Trio of Marauders named to NCBWA Preseason All-Atlantic Region

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Millersville baseball's Jeff Taylor, Conor Cook and Bren Taylor have been voted to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-Atlantic Region Team.
Members of the NCBWA cast votes to recognize anticipated standouts going into the 2022 season. The team is a select group as only three starting pitchers and one player at every other position were selected. Millersville's Taylor and Cook accounted for two of three starting pitchers spots.
Additionally, Millersville catcher Luke Trainer and third baseman Tyler Wright received honorable mention.
The three Marauders named to the preseason team were the PSAC East's major award winners in 2021. Jeff Taylor was the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year while Bren Taylor was named the athlete of the year and Cook won the rookie of the year award.
Bren Taylor, a junior, was just the third Marauder named PSAC East Athlete of the Year. He led the PSAC in hits and triples and ranked fifth in on base percentage and runs scored while hitting .399. Jeff Taylor led the PSAC with 10 winnings and 69 innings pitched, posting a 2.87 ERA. Cook finished his rookie season with a 5-0 record and 2.70 ERA over 40 innings pitched.
