Game Recap: Field Hockey | | Ethan Hulsey, Director of Athletic Communications

Harsh and Brown lead Marauders past Mount Olive, 5-1

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Bri Harsh recorded her second hat trick in six games, and Hannah Brown scored twice, leading Millersville to a 5-1 win over Mount Olive on a hot Saturday afternoon in Millersville.

Harsh, the reigning NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week, boosted her season goal total to nine. She is the first Marauder in at least 13 years to record two hat tricks in the same season. Brown scored her second and third goals of the season.

Millersville remained undefeated at 6-0. Mount Olive, playing the second game of a back-to-back, dropped to 1-4.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Brown gave Millersville the early lead just 2:24 into the game. Morgan Saunders' initial blast hit hard off the goalie's leg pads, and Brown collected the rebound and quickly converted a reverse hit. Keaghan Keracher connected with Harsh with fewer than two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
• Brown put the Marauders up 3-0 with five minutes left in the second. From the right side of the cage, she hit a shot that manage to trickle through a defender and past the shielded keeper.
• Harsh scored once more in the third period, following her own shot. She scored her third of the game 24 seconds into the fourth.
• Mount Olive's lone goal came on a penalty stroke from Jordyn Richards in the third quarter.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Millersville totaled 23 shots and forced the Mount Olive keeper into 13 saves. Mount Olive challenged Millersville with nine penalty corners--the most drawn against the Marauders this season. Millersville, however, limited Mount Olive to just seven shots, three of which were on goal.
Kerstin Koons earned the win in goal. Jacinta Bravo Mosso made her Millersville debut in goal and recorded one goal in the fourth quarter.

REACTION FROM COACH SHELLY BEHRENS
Thoughts on the game: "Credit to Mount Olive. They played back-to-back. For us, we had great structure the first two quarters and got away from it a little in the third. But I'm pleased that we were able to get players quality minutes. I think Mount Olive is a great team. The one thing about this team that I love is that they continue to be adaptable and make themselves coachable. It was a little hot out here but they found a way and overcame."
On Brown's performance: "I think she was ready. We had a couple of calls that we wanted to get to her and do some different things on corners. We have different players step up. We have gamers. I love the second and third efforts in the circle and that's going to pay dividends as we go on."

NOTES
• Millersville has scored five or more goals four times this season.
• Saturday was the first meeting between Millersville and Mount Olive.
