REACTION FROM COACH SHELLY BEHRENS
•
On playing on the road for the first time: "That was different; nice actually. We gave them a day off yesterday after four games in seven days, which was a lot. For us today to come out today, get on a bus, drive three-and-a-half and go play, there were lots of positives. Certainly, there are things we can get better at, but credit to the team for adjusting to a new experience. To win and still be able to get better, it's a good problem to have."
•
On finding ways to improve despite the wins: "This is where we are, and we are doing some good things. We could be tighter here and there, and as opponents change, we won't be able to get away with some things. Today was a good win but a little sloppy with details missed here and there. We have to be better and that requires us to look at ourselves, individually, on defense and the attack with some hockey IQ things. We mishit the ball a lot today. Maybe that was being on the road. We haven't done that since scrimmages. We made some defensive errors that led to corners and a goal. I'm OK with mistakes as long as we are aggressive. We will address it and get better. These seven games are exactly what I hoped they'd be, preparing us for conference play. I don't think we have to lose a game to learn but sometimes learning while you are winning can be a challenge."
•
On the variety of players scoring goals: "I think there is depth and versatility. We have different characters able to step up each game. It isn't one or two who always have to be on. We share the load and carry the water up the hill together. We have some players whose tenacity in the circle is a difference-maker. As we get pushed and challenged we will rise to the challenge, and I'm looking forward to that."
NOTES
• Harsh has recorded at least one point in six of the team's seven games.
• Millersville has taken 138 shots compared to its opponents' 26. Millersville also holds a 107-24 advantage in corners through seven games.
UP NEXT
• Millersville is back at home Saturday, Sept. 25 for the seventh time in its first eight games. Indiana (Pa.) visits for the PSAC opener.
