MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Millersville erupted for five goals in the game's first six minutes, and highlighted by hat tricks from both
Qhayiya Nogoduka and
Kate Strickland, the Marauders steamrolled past Seton Hill Tuesday, 10-0.
Millersville, ranked No. 6 in Division II, continued to storm through the early portion of its schedule, staying undefeated at 5-0 while outscoring its five opponents 28-2. The 10 goals scored Tuesday were the most since a 13-1 win over Philadelphia Textile (now Jefferson) in 1994.
In addition to the six total goals from Strickland and Nogoduka,
Keaghan Keracher added a goal and an assist,
Kayla Michaels and
Kristin Strijdom both had two assists, and
Brynne Ehrlacher,
Pili Zaballa, and
Morgan Saunders all scored one goal each.
Seton Hill's record dropped to 1-3 following the loss.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• The onslaught started almost immediately. Just 23 seconds after the opening whistle, Zaballa scored on a reverse shot from the center of the circle. Strickland scored less than one minute later. Nogoduka then scored twice in a span of 1:27, first on an assist from Strijdom, then on an assist from Keracher. Strickland made the score 5-0 at the 6:06 mark.
• Nogoduka and Strijdom connected 1:27 into the second quarter, and Keracher made it 7-0 when she redirected a shot from
Ashlynn Lennon.
• Millersville tacked on three more in the second half. Strickland completed her hat trick 7:30 into the third quarter. Saunders scored her fourth goal of the season on an assist from Michaels with just over three minutes remaining in the third. Ehrlacher capped the scoring 2:58 into the fourth.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Millersville recorded a staggering 60 shots while shutting out Seton Hill in that category. The Marauders took at least 14 shots in each quarter. Millersville also held an 18-0 advantage in penalty corners.
• Nineteen Marauders recorded at least one shot.
