Millersville's Hannah Woelfling named PSAC Track and Field Rookie of the Year

| By:
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - A PSAC Championship win and All-America finish to her debut season has earned Millersville University's Hannah Woelfling the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year award.

Winning the award is becoming quite a tradition for the Millersville throws group. Woelfling joins Amanda Myers (2015) and Sunflower Greene (2016) as the third Marauder to win the conference's postseason award in the last seven years.

Woelfling, a redshirt freshman competing for the first time in the hammer throw, won the event at the PSAC Outdoor Championships and went on to place fourth at the NCAA Division II Championships. She set a then-season best at the PSAC Championships with a toss of 187-5, winning the event by nearly 15 feet. The following week, Woelfling posted the best toss in the PSAC all season and the second-best mark in school history at 191-10. At the national championships, Woelfling hit 186-8.

Woelfling also excelled in the discus. Her season-best mark of 149-8 stands third in Millersville history and was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. She placed second in the event at the PSAC Championships. Prior to the NCAA Championships, Woelfling placed first or second in both the hammer and discus in each of her 10 meets.
