LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Millersville track and field team used Saturday's Lock Haven Qualifier as a last chance to get some additional athletes into the limited 2021 PSAC Championships field.
This year's outdoor championship, hosted by Shippensburg and beginning Thursday, May 6, is accepting only the top 16 performers in each event.
Millersville pole vaulter Caitlin Miller cleared a career-high mark of 10-2 1/2, which elevated her into the top 16 in the conference rankings. Miller also won Saturday's event.
The reigning PSAC Field Athlete of the Week, Hannah Woelfling won the discus, hitting 149-5. She won the hammer throw as well with a toss of 182-10. Woelfling has won the hammer in each of the last five meets, and has won the discus in three of the last five. Aliyah Striver placed second in the hammer with a toss of 163-8. Striver's 40-6 placed her second in the shot put.
Emma Elwell ran a season-best 26.20 in the 200-meter dash, finishing second in the race. Gabby Karch placed fourth with a time of 27.31 but neither runner improved their PSAC positioning.
Mia Carson won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.21, just .06 over her season-best that she set last weekend.
Millersville placed four runners in the top nine of the 800-meter dash. Jillian Miller placed third with a time of 2:24.31, and Yoangelys Rijo-Cedeno placed fourth with a time of 2:24.61. The times were seasons bests for both runners.
