ABOUT THE GAMES

• Millersville faces a busy week ahead with eight games scheduled in a five-day stretch. Six of those games are at home as Millersville makes up a PSAC East doubleheader with Lock Haven on Tuesday before playing a non-conference doubleheader vs. Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday.
• Millersville dropped its last two games after a six-game winning streak. With a 4-4 PSAC East record, this is an important week for the Marauders. Both division opponents--Lock Haven and Shippensburg--are behind the Marauders in the standings. So far, Millersville has split with first-place Kutztown and fourth-place East Stroudsburg.
• Millersville, with 25 home runs through 12 games, continues to lead Division II in home runs per game. The Marauders have hit eight more than any other team in the PSAC and also lead the league in slugging percentage (.572).
• On the individual stats leaderboard, Faith Willenbrock leads the nation in homers per game at 0.80. Willenbrock is also tied for 15th among active leaders in career home runs 35. Willenbrock, however has hit her 35 in just 108 career games. Every player ranked ahead of her has played at least 138 career games.
• Maddie Guinane has stepped up in her third (and final) season. She currently ranks eighth in the PSAC in opponent's batting average (.233) and is also in the top 10 in batters struck out looking. Prior to this season, her career-high in innings pitched was six innings, and she hit that mark just once. This season, she's pitched more than six innings four times in six appearances. Amidst her last three starts, she had a run of 20 2/3 innings pitched with just two runs allowed.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

• Lock Haven is off to a slow start with a 1-9 record. All games played have been against PSAC East teams. It has been a challenging schedule as eight of those games have come against the top two teams in the standings--West Chester and Kutztown.
• Lock Haven enters the series ranked last in the PSAC in team batting average (.226) and has hit one home run in its 10 games. The pitching staff's 6.44 ERA ranks 15th and it has struck out 29 batters in 63 innings. Summer Peters is the team's top hitter with a .438 batting average.
• Pitt-Johnstown is 3-9 with a 3-7 PSAC West record and is coming off of a split with Clarion. Six regulars are hitting .289 or higher with Olivia Porter's .378 average, .429 OBP and .689 slugging percentage leading the way. She has nine extra-base hits and leads the team with 11 RBIs.
• UPJ's pitching staff ranks 13th in the PSAC with a team 6.03 ERA. Teams are hitting .356 against them, which is the third-highest batting average against in the PSAC.

SERIES HISTORY

• While Lock Haven has held an decided edge in the all-time series, seven of Millersville's 17 wins in the series have come since 2012. Lock Haven has a slight 12-7 in games played since 2012. The two teams split a doubleheader in 2020 with Millersville winning an 8-0 five-inning game before Lock Haven rallied late for an 11-10 win in nine innings. Willenbrock hit two home runs and drove in seven in the doubleheader. 
• Millersville and Pitt-Johnstown first met in 2018. All four games played in the series have been played at Millersville. Most recently, in 2019, UPJ swept a doubleheader with both games ending in a 6-4 score. Devan Masciulli went 3-for-4 in the doubleheader.
