Marauders defeat Shepherd 2-1; Win season series over Rams

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Women's soccer took down Shepherd on the road today 2-1. The win clinched the season series with the Rams after the two teams' previous match ended in a draw earlier this season. This was the Marauders' fourth win in five games as they fight for the last postseason spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East.

Emma Elwell, who has been playing a key roll for Matt Procopio as of late, started the scoring off with a goal in the 13' of play. Lauren Downey assisted Elwell, this is their second game in a row connecting with each other on a score. Downey currently leads Millersville in assists with six thus far.

The Rams would fight back in the second half to tie the game up at one off a Delaney Brittner score in the 54'. However, Elwell would find Alexis Spencer less than 20 minutes later for the game-winning goal.

Millersville (7-5-3, 7-5-2 PSAC East) still holds the No. 4 spot in the PSAC East, and is right in front of East Stroudburg, (No. 5) who is a game back from the Marauders. 'Ville visits the Warriors next Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
