EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. –
Morgan Winchock scored with just over five minutes remaining in regulation to lift Millersville over East Stroudsburg and punch a ticket into the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. The No. 4 seed Marauders will travel to Kutztown to face the No. 1 seed Bears for a third time on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in the PSAC Quarterfinals.
Today's match was essentially a playoff game as both Millersville and East Stroudsburg battled for the final playoff spot in the PSAC East. Millersville (8-5-3, 8-5-2 PSAC East) was held scoreless by East Stroudsburg keeper Mauri Jackson in the first half who was solid the entire night. The Marauder offense fired three shots on goal within the first 20 minutes of play but were not able to get past Jackson. The Warriors had one chance on goal in first half that took place in the 42', Natalie Schooley sent a ball towards the Marauder net but
Reagan Kolinski was there to collect it.
The highlight of the match came in the 84' when reigning PSAC East Player of the Week,
Emma Elwell, found a cutting Winchock in front of the East Stroudsburg net for the game-winning goal.
Millersville will enjoy the moment and regroup as they face Bloomsburg in the regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 6.
