MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team played to their second straight draw this afternoon against Shepherd, ending the match locked at two. The Marauders controlled the game statistically, but weren't able to capitalize on enough of their scoring opportunities due to tough keeper play from Shepherd. However, they managed to score two on the day coming from
Morgan Winchock and
Kylie Sullivan, which was enough to secure one point in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East standings.Â
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Shepherd (1-4-1, 0-4-1 PSAC East) started the scoring started in the 43rd minute of the first half. Sara Hohn launched a ball into the right side of the net off a Marauder turnover to put the Rams up one.Â
• Winchock answered just seven minutes into the second half with a goal of her own. The forward received a ball from
Lauren Downey that she sent into the net to equal the score.
• Hohn scored another unassisted goal in the 62nd minute off a free kick from the top of the Millersville box to put the Rams back on top.Â
• Millersville (2-3-3, 2-3-2 PSAC East) tied the game up with just six minutes to play in regulation.
Savannah Rennix sent a great ball to
Kylie Sullivan that she snuck over the keeper's head to even the score at two.Â
• The Marauders recorded four shots in overtime but none got passed Shepherd keeper Faith Geraci who was impressive in goal tonight with eight saves.Â
