LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Millersville women's volleyball team has been recognized by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with a USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season. The Marauders have now won the award in three straight seasons. The award was created in 1993, with 66 schools earning the honor. The number of awards has since risen to an all-time high of 1,313 in 2020.
In order to be considered for the award a high school or collegiate volleyball team must maintain at least a cumulative 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The PSAC was well-represented with 12 teams making the 2019-2020 list. 10 Millersville women's volleyball student-athletes earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition earlier this summer.
The Marauders are coming off a historic season that saw the team set a new program record with 26 wins, including a second-ever victory in the NCAA Tournament. Head coach
