Millersville falls to East Stroudsburg on last second foul shot

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville women's basketball team trailed East Stroudsburg throughout the majority of the game never coming within two until the final 10 seconds of play when a Lauren Lister layup tied the game for the first time since the beginning of the first quarter.

But with just 1.3 seconds left on the clock, the Marauders fouled the Warriors' Tiffany Lapotsky. A single free throw was all she needed for East Stroudsburg to walk away with the 60-59 victory.

Millersville falls to 7-15 on the season and 4-13 in PSAC play. East Stroudsburg improves to 15-8 overall and 10-6 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing by 10 to start the second half, Lister immediately sank a jumper to start the Marauders' momentum. The ball got no further than mid-court before Lister knocked it out of the Warriors' possession and drove it down to the net for the fast break layup to bring the Marauders within six points of the lead, the closest they had come since the beginning of the first quarter.
• Erika Reed led the Marauders' efforts from the 3-point range shooting 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Caught up in the paint, Lister passed the ball out to Reed for the 3-point bucket. Millersville was quick to shut down East Stroudsburg's offense again, setting up Reed for a second 3-pointer from the bottom left corner to remain within two points of the lead.
• With just over 10 seconds left in the game, Courtney Dimoff tossed the ball to mid-court where Lister awaited driving it down to the net for the layup to tie the game for the first time since the beginning of the first quarter.
• East Stroudsburg's Tiffany Lapotsky quickly rushed to the basket earning the foul and two shots for a chance to take the lead. Lapotsky missed the first shot but sank the second shutting down the possibility of overtime play.

• "Lauren (Lister) was on the floor and she kept getting up. People don't understand how hard she goes for 40 minutes. I thought she played really tough today. She came out and set that tone in the second half for everyone else."
