MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's basketball team celebrated its lone senior prior to Saturday's season finale.
Dimoff finished with six points, four rebounds and two assists, but it wasn't enough to help the Marauders overpower visiting Lock Haven. Millersville ultimately lost, 74-60.
Millersville concluded the 2019-20 campaign with an 8-19, 5-17 record. Lock Haven improved to 15-12 overall and 12-10 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lock Haven's offense proved a lot to handle in the first half. With the game tied at five, the Bald Eagles used a 10-0 spurt to take a commanding lead.
Chandera Jones-Aryeh stopped the bleeding with a layup with 3:20 remaining in the quarter to cut the lead to 15-7.
• Trailing 23-11 at the end of the first quarter, Millersville again struggled to slow Lock Haven on the defensive end. Three consecutive layups and a pair of free throws helped Lock Haven open up a 31-11 lead just 2:12 into the second quarter.
• Back-to-back 3-pointers from
Lauren Lister and
Olivia Mottern ended the Lock Haven run and steadied the Millersville offense.
Ty Taylor's 3-pointer with 2:48 remaining in the half cut Lock Haven's lead to 13, but the Bald Eagles scored the final five points to own a 43-25 advantage.
• Lister's layup and ensuing free throw with 3:54 remaining in the third quarter cut the Marauder deficit to 12, 53-41. Millersville failed to get any closer during the remainder of the quarter and trailed going into the fourth, 60-46.
• The Marauders opened the final stanza on a quick 6-0 run. Layups from Lister and
Mia Leonard brought the deficit down to eight points with 7:38 remaining, 60-52.
• Jones-Aryeh converted on a tough layup with 4:41 remaining in the fourth quarter to again cut the deficit to eight points, 64-56. The Marauders were unable to get any closer. Lock Haven responded with seven consecutive points to put the game out of reach.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Lock Haven's up-tempo style of play led to open shots converting on 8-of-15 3-point attempts and shoooting 48 percent overall.

Lauren Lister again led the way in Millersville's final game of the season, scoring a game-high 24 points on 9-of-20 shooting. Lister was one of three Marauders to grab five rebounds, tying the team high.
• Lock Haven snagged 16 offensive rebounds to Millersville's nine.
• The Marauders dominated the turnover battle, forcing 23 turnovers while only committing eight. Millersville scored 18 points off of those turnovers.
• Millersville out-scored Lock Haven in the second half, 35-31.

On senior Courtney Dimoff: "Courtney is your ultimate teammate. She did a great job this year leading and the kids really looked up to her. She exemplified what our program was all about. She gets it done the right way. She's a really good student, too. She's going to be missed because the knowledge of the game that girls has."

On the defense: "The first half we didn't play any defense. In the second half we went out with a whole different mentality. We tied them in the fourth quarter and beat them in the third. I think that shows we made good adjustments and the kids played with better intensity of just really guarding the ball and doing a good job with the press.

On building off the season: "We're building on this. It was a great last game to play. I think the kids took a lot from this game and season and we're already looking forward to next year."

• Lister's historic junior season concluded with a 24-point effort. On the season, she averaged 25.5 points, 3.54 assists, and 5.96 rebounds.
• Millersville still commands the all-time series against Lock Haven, 38-34. The Bald Eagles now hold a four-game win streak over the Marauders.
