Sunflower Greene named PSAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Another season and another PSAC Field Athlete of the Year for Millersville University's Sunflower Greene. On Tuesday, the conference's coaches voted Greene the PSAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year for the third year in a row.
Greene is now a five-time PSAC field athlete of the year, having won the indoor award twice. Greene was also the PSAC Outdoor Freshman of the Year in 2016. Greene is the first to win the field athlete of the year award three times and joins Shippensburg's Neely Spence (2009-11) as the only athletes to win an athlete of the year award three times.
In the 2019 outdoor season, Greene won the shot put, hammer throw and discus at the PSAC Outdoor Championships and set a championships record in the shot put and hammer. Greene qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in all three events and earned All-America status in the shot put and hammer throw. Greene placed fifth in the hammer and seventh in the shot put.
Greene was previously named USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year.
