Lock Haven, Pa. - Three members of the Millersville University women's lacrosse team earned All-PSAC honors, and
Grace Cobaugh was named the PSAC Freshman of the Year. Cobaugh joins
Sabrina Fusco as the only two Marauders in program history to receive the honor, with Fusco being named PSAC Freshman of the Year after the 2015 season.
Sophomore
Genevieve Speights was named to the second team, while juniors
Sarah Leverentz and
Jasa Lorah received All-PSAC Third Team honors. It marks the first All-PSAC honors for Speights and Leverentz in their collegiate careers, and the second time for Lorah after she earned All-PSAC Third Team honors last season.
In her first season at Millersville, Cobaugh contributed all over the midfield, totaling 31 points off of 24 goals and seven assists, 28 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and 39 draw controls. The freshman appeared in all 18 games, starting 15, and ranked third on the team in draw controls, fourth in goals and shots (54) and tied for fourth in points. She totaled a season-high four points, three goals and one assist, in Millersville's 15-12 win at Shippensburg on April 2.
Speights was a huge piece to the Marauders' offense this season, leading the team in points (48) and draw controls (59), finishing second in goals (37) and shots (78), fourth in assists (11) and fifth in ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (15). She started every game and scored four goals on three occasions, including in Millersville's 9-8 upset over No. 25 Bloomsburg on March 23 when she scored the game-winner in the final minute.
Leverentz also had an excellent season in the midfield, leading the team in caused turnovers (24), ranking second in draw controls (50) and ground balls (44), third in goals (26) and finishing tied for fourth in points (31). She missed only one game and totaled a season-high five points, four goals and one assist, in Millersville's 16-6 win over Kutztown on April 16.
Lorah anchored the defense for the Marauders, leading the team in ground balls (51) and ranking third in caused turnovers (20). She started every game and was part of a defense that allowed the sixth-fewest goals in the PSAC. She collected a season-high seven ground balls in Millersville's 18-10 win over Edinboro on March 16, and caused a season-high three turnovers in the Marauders' 9-8 upset against No. 25 Bloomsburg on March 23.
