ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• Millersville and Kutztown meet Wednesday in a PSAC East game with significant postseason implications. Both teams have already clinched PSAC Tournament berths but are battling for the No. 4 seed and a home playoff game in the first round. Millersville holds a two-game lead over Kutztown with three games to play, and a win Wednesday would clinch Millersville's first home playoff game since 2015. Saturday's win over Bloomsburg clinched Millersville its first winning record since 2014-15.
• Two of Millersville's final three regular season games are at home. The Marauders are 9-3 in Pucillo. Kutztown is 7-5 both at home and on the road. The Marauders have won five in a row at home, outscoring teams by a total of 115 points (23.0 points per game) in that stretch. Millersville's only three home losses have come against PSAC division-leading IUP and West Chester and PSAC East second-place team Shippensburg. Millersville owns a plus-15.8 scoring margin at home, holding opponents to just 61.8 points per game on 38.1 percent shooting from the field and 31.6 percent shooting from three. The last four teams to come to Pucillo have been limited to fewer than 60 points and now better than 36.9 percent shooting. Only three teams--IUP, Shippensburg and Mansfield--have shot better than 41 percent from the field in Pucillo Gymnasium this season.Â
• Millersville is shooting for its first season sweep of Kutztown since 2013-14. Millersville has played Kutztown more than any other opponent with 212 all-time meetings. Kutztown is also Millersville's oldest rival with the series dating back to 1903-04. Aside from a six-year span during the World War II era, Millersville and Kutztown have played each season since 1908-09. Millersville's win at Kutztown on Jan. 21 snapped the Golden Bears' eight-game winning streak in the series.Â
•
James Sullivan is coming off a season-high 20-point performance in which he made a career-high six 3-pointers. Sullivan has averaged 16.7 points per game over his last three games, and has hit 15 of his last 23 3-pointer attempts.
Jamal Washington has scored in double-figures in four consecutive games and also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds Saturday against Bloomsburg.Â
• Defense is a key to Millersville's success. Millersville is 11-0 when it holds opponents under 70 points. Forcing turnovers is a significant part of that defense. Millersville ranks second in the PSAC in turnovers forced and steals. Millersville is 15-3 (and 10-1 against PSAC teams) when out-scoring opponents in points off of turnovers.Â
