MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - For the first time in the 2019-20 season, the Millersville women's tennis team dropped a match.
Despite a competitive bout, the Marauders (5-1) lost to Indiana (Pa.), 6-1.
The final score wasn't indicative of how tight the match was. Millersville was competitive in all three doubles matches, lost a three-set marathon in flight three singles and was competitive in several other matchups.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
•
Maria Ojeda powered through for Millersville, taking the only point in the match with a thrilling three-set victory again junior Maria Magraner. Ojeda fell behind early, dropping the first set in the match, 3-6. However, the freshman bounced back to take the second set and won the third-set tiebreak for a flight six victory, 10-8.
• Fellow freshman,

QUOTABLE
"It was a great measuring stick for us," head coach
Matt Helsel said. "We're obviously better, but how much? Now we know. Now we know we can play with anyone. IUP may be the best team in the region, and we were shot for shot with them. It's a great confidence boost to know how far we've come."
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
"And even so, we feel like maybe we could have played just a little better," Helsel added. But we couldn't have fought any harder. That's the one thing we bring every day, the fight. We don't go away."
