Women’s swimming competes in Lynn Invitational in sunny Florida

Boca Raton, Fla. – The Millersville University women's swimming team finished behind host Lynn at the fourth-annual Lynn Sprint Invitational Saturday afternoon in sunny Florida.
Junior Alexis Shollenberger was three tenths of a second from first place in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 26.86. Shollenberger had the best individual finish for the Marauders on the day. A position below her in third place, senior Amira Washington finished with a time of 27.81.
Shollenberger led the team in the 50-yard backstroke with a third-place finish with a 29.97 time.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Marauders' A team recorded a 1:51.59 time, earning a second place in that event. The relay team included freshman Maddie Stoner, Shollenberger, junior Judith Miller, and senior Amanda Wetzler.
Rylan Tepe set a new season-best in the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:13.44, finishing in sixth place.
The Marauders get set to travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.
