
Women's swimming drops meet against East Stroudsburg, 132-61

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville University women's swimming team dropped its dual meet against conference rival East Stroudsburg 132-61 on Saturday afternoon. Junior Madisson Cartmill and sophomore Kirsten Strayer took victories in one event each.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
• In the 100-yard butterfly, Cartmill recorded a time of 1:04.45, swimming in her first 100 fly event of the season. That time earned her the top spot.
• Strayer picked up her win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.09, two seconds shy of her season best (1:13.02) at the F&M Invitational.
• Freshman Alexis Bowen captured second-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and the 1,000-yard freestyle. In the 500 free, Bowen touched the wall at 5:51.69 which broke her season- and team-best time, previously 5:32.62 at the F&M Invitational. Bowen recorded an 11:49.40 in the 1,000 free.
• In the 200-yard individual medley, freshman Maddie Stoner finished second with a time of 2:28.63. Coming in third place was senior Gabriella Licata, two seconds shy of her teammate at 2:30.32.
NOTES
• The Warriors picked up their 28th victory over the Marauders in program history. The last time the Marauders won was three season ago when Millersville won 118-86.
• Nine out of the 11 events went to the Warriors.
• The Marauders and Warriors will see each other later in the year when East Stroudsburg hosts its annual ESU Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12 p.m.
UP NEXT
• The Marauders end a six-meet road stretch and return back to Pucillo Natitorium where they face LIU Post and Kuztown on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m.
