No. 25 Millersville shuts out Indiana (Pa.) in a 2-0 fashion

Millersville, Pa. – The 25th-ranked Millersville University women's soccer team's top-two leading scorers, junior Kay Liebl and sophomore Talia Grynkewicz, scored to propel the Marauders to a 2-0 victory over Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at Pucillo Field.

The Marauders broke their four-year winless streak against the Crimson Hawks and improved to 8-2 (7-2 PSAC). IUP finished the day with a record of 4-4-1 (3-4 PSAC). The Marauders' win puts the team one point away from first-place East Stroudsburg.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• The Marauders led the attack and possession for most of the game, recording 13 shots versus the Crimson Hawks' five.
• Millersville's offense continued to overpower the defense when Hoffman passed into the box from the right side resulting in a tip by Delaney Meadows out to the center of the box. Grynkewicz had a running start and blasted a rocket from 10 yards out into the lower left corner of the goal. The Marauders gained the 1-0 advantage in the 13th minute.
• Twelve minutes after halftime, sophomore Alexis Glode chipped the ball over the defensive line in the midfield to Liebl, who sped through and scored in the 57th minute. That goal extended the 2-0 Millersville lead.
• Sophomore Haley Peachey nearly gave the Marauders a third goal when she took a 20-yard shot from outside the top left of the box that hit off the crossbar with 10 minutes to go in regulation.

HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO QUOTES
• "Always good to get a win. We don't pay attention to those things with our opponents, so it doesn't change things for us."
• "[Liebl and Grynkewicz] both did well today. Each of them scored great goals. Happy for both of them to get a goal today. It is great for her and the team that she is leading the conference in goals."
• "Defensively, we were very solid today. [IUP was] able to create some chances but otherwise we did a good job shutting them down."
