Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's soccer team put together a complete performance, scoring two second half goals to defeat California (Pa.) 3-1 and capture its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory of the season Saturday afternoon at Pucillo Field.
Three different players notched goals for the Marauders, who dominated possession and outshot the Vulcans 29-3.
HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO QUOTES
• "It wasn't our best performance today but we were able to work back and get a result."
• "It was great to see [
Rachel Leisher] get a goal today. She can definitely score goals. It was a great build up and finish."
• "We may have registered 29 shots but our shot selection needs to be better. Only giving up three shots is good, however they were able to score off of just three shots which is not good. The goal came off a corner which is an area we need to grow."
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• With the game tied at 1-1, freshman
Rachel Leisher broke the tie in the 75
th minute from a rebounded (Grynkewicz) shot from the right side. Leisher ran up the left side of the box and ripped a shot into the empty net.
• The equalizer for the Vulcans came in the beginning of the second half (49
th minute). From a corner kick opportunity, Kiley Austin kicked a corner to the head of Kellie Lynch.
• For the second-straight game, sophomore
Talia Grynkewicz scored the first goal. In the eighth minute, freshman
Rachel Leisher passed the ball to Grynkewicz on the left side of the box that sneaked the ball past the diving goalie.
• Extending the Marauders lead with six minutes to go in the game, Glode, from the right side of the box, crossed the ball into the middle of the attack for Grynkewicz to get a foot on it and redirect it to junior
Kay Liebl, who dove and was able to redirect it for the third goal.

• Liebl was a problem for the Vulcans, recording eight shots with one goal and three shots on goal.
• Grynkewicz played a key role in the offense by recording two assists and one goal.
• Leisher did not take long to get her first collegiate goal in the second game of the season. She also had four shots.
