Women’s soccer blanks Jefferson in first game of season, 6-0

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season by scoring six goals with junior Kay Liebl scoring a brace against Jefferson Thursday afternoon.

HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO QUOTE
• "Can't ask for a better start to the year. I thought we played well and scored some great goals. However, we still have a few areas where we need to grow. We will look to better those on Saturday."
• "Talia's (Grynkewicz) goal was a massive when she scored. It really helped to settle us into the game. Coming out and getting another early goal in the second half was just as important for us as well."
• "Kay was great again today. She is very consistent in her play. Her work rate is tremendous. She scored a great first goal after fighting a defender, who we thought fouled her. She had a nice finish on her second as well."

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Liebl scored goals in the 23rd and the 49th minutes. In the 23rd minute, she blasted a low lining shot from outside of the box into the top of the goal to make it 2-0. Liebl extended the Marauder lead to 3-0 with a shot from inside the box.
• Sophomore Talia Grynkewicz started the Millersville scoring early within the first six minutes when she received a long pass from Liebl for a shot that hit the back of the net.
• The Marauders were awarded a corner kick which senior Bailey Kramer perfectly crossed to Glode's head, and Glode redirected it into the back of the net. Off a foul, Kramer had a free kick opportunity that deflected off an opponent into the net in the 57th minute.
• In the 76th minute, sophomore Mackenzie Stallone threaded the needle into the box for Amanda McElhare, who punched it into the right side for the sixth goal of the day.

• Liebl began her junior season by scoring her first brace of her collegiate career. Liebl highlighted the action with two goals within the first 50 minutes of the game. Liebl finished the day with two goals and an assist.
