New Orleans, La. - Millersville University track and field throws coach
Brittany Hartman was named the USTFCCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, and one of her pupils,
Sunflower Greene, was named the region's field athlete of the year for the second consecutive season.
Hartman, a 2008 graduate of Millersville, guided the Marauders' 2018 throws group to a dominant outdoor season. Both Greene (hammer, shot put) and
Amanda Myers (javelin) qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships while posting a combined five NCAA provisional marks. Her athletes piled up six USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region honors.
Hartman's group was key in Millersville posting its highest PSAC Outdoor Championships finish since 1996. A Marauder finished first or second in all four throwing events and Hartman's athletes produced five All-PSAC finishes. Her group also totaled 62 of the team's 98 points. Four Marauders scored in the hammer and took three of the top five spots in the discus.

Greene was the leader of Millersville's throwers. The junior, also named the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Indoor Athlete of the Year in 2018, was named the PSAC Championships Field Athlete of the Meet for the second consecutive year. Greene won the shot put and hammer throw with meet record marks, and she placed second in the discus. Entering the NCAA Championships, Greene owns the region's top mark in shot put and hammer. She was a four-time PSAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week as well.
