Millersville, Pa. – West Chester scored three unanswered runs in the top of the seventh to triumph over Millersville 4-0 in game one Saturday. Game two was postponed because of rain.
East Stroudsburg helped the Marauders by sweeping Shippensburg in final PSAC East doubleheader. With that sweep, the Marauders need to win the Sunday matchup against West Chester to capture the second seed in the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday.
Amanda Houck controlled game one with her lights out pitching. Houck threw a one-hitter with five strikeouts. Houck had a no-hitter until sophomore
Rebecca Blatt hit a bloop over the pitcher's head in the bottom of the fourth inning. Millersville put the ball in the play but grounded out nine times in the game.
Only one run was on the scoreboard until the top of the seventh inning.
The Marauders' defense was sharp in the first five innings. In the top of the fourth inning, West Chester had runners on second and third base with one out. The Marauders and senior pitcher
Cassidy Pinchorski ended the Golden Rams' scoring chance with a pop up and a ground ball out. The Marauders' stranded nine Golden Rams on base. Â
