Kutztown, Pa. -- Millersville earned a decisive 14-8 victory over the Kutztown Golden Bears after senior
Sabrina Fusco scored five goals in the second half to smother a Kutztown comeback.
The Marauders opened the game with three unanswered goals, but Kutztown rallied with its own 3-0 scoring run and knotted the game up 3-3 with less than 14 minutes in the first half. Millersville responded by outscoring Kutztown 4-1 in the closing minutes to take a 7-4 lead into half. Momentum was firmly behind Millersville, after senior Kristen Buztner assisted freshman

Millersville put together two multi-goal scoring runs to outscore the Golden Bears 7-4 in the second half. Redshirt junior goalkeeper
Shannon Davis complimented Millersville's efficient offense. Davis registered six of her ten saves during the second half. Kutztown struggled to get the ball past Davis, and Millersville's offense scored its seven goals on nine shots on goal.
Fusco scored her five goals in the final 20 minutes of play. Furthermore, Butzner assisted all five of Fusco's goals. The senior duo are playing with an almost telepathic connection. There have now been 34 instances this season that one scored a goal while the other assisted it.
Butzner's seven points at Kutztown moved her season tally to 78. She now sits four points away from breaking Bridget Hufnagel's single-season points record of 81 set in 2016.
Fusco's five goals took her to 58 goals this season which tops her career-best 56 goals during thr 2016 season. With three games left in the season, she sits 12 goals away from breaking Elizabeth Weekley's single-season goals record of 69 set in 2008.

Callie Kavanaugh fueled the Millersville offense during the first half. She scored a hat trick in opening half to take her season tally to 39 goals.
Freshman
Gillian Zimmerman scored her first Millersville hat trick. She has ten goals and 14 points this season despite not starting in any of her 13 appearances this season.

Genevieve Speights registered her seventh multi-goal game of the season. She is tied with sophomore
Sarah Leverentz for most goals by an underclassmen this season with 21 goals each.
Millersville earned its ninth win of the season which tied its second-best win total since the 2013 season. The team still sits eighth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference standings behind three teams that hold tiebreakers over the Marauders. Millersville will likely need to win out, along with Slippery Rock, IUP, and Bloomsburg picking up losses along the way, to make its first PSAC playoff appearance since the 2016 season.
Millersville returns to Biemesderfer Stadium on Saturday, April 21 to host Gannon at 1 p.m. Prior to the first draw control, the Marauders will celebrate Senior Day.
