Millersville, Pa. – Sophomore
Rebecca Blatt and freshman
Faith Willenbrock shined in both games of Millersville's sweep of East Stroudsburg. Blatt hit two in the 10-2 game one win and Willenbrock hit a pair in the 6-1 game two victory.
The Marauders improved to 17-14, 6-4 in the PSAC East. The Warriors dropped to 11-19, 3-7 in the PSAC East. Millersville collected 25 hits on the day.
In her first two at-bats, Blatt blasted two three-run home runs and later added a single. Blatt finished the day 4 for 7 and eight RBIs that pushed her in first for the most single season RBI's in Millersville history. Willenbrock went 3 for 6 with five RBIs and two home runs.
Game 1
After ESU scored two in the first, the Marauders took control early and scored 10 unanswered runs. Blatt hit three-run home runs in the bottom of the first and second inning that put the team up, 6-2. Then, Willenbrock singled down the left field line bringing in sophomore
Ally Kerr.
In the bottom of the third inning, freshman Devan Mascuilli hit a single down the left line to score one and increased Millersville's lead to 8-2. Blatt had her third hit of the day, driving in junior
Morgan Almodovar.
The scoring for Millersville ended on an unorthodox play. Sophomore
Mariah Ford swung on the third strike but the catcher miss played the pitch and gathered the ball. The catcher threw it over the first baseman's head. Ford kept running the bases while the right fielder over ran the ball. Ford headed home with the throw coming in and touched home plate.
Blatt totaled seven RBIs--the most in a game so far this season. Three Marauders: Mascuilli, senior
Raeann Buskey, and Almodovar, went 2 for 3 in game one.
Freshman
Catherine Johnson claimed her sixth complete game in the victory. Johnson gave up seven hits, one walk and two runs. Johnson earned her seventh win of the season.
Game 2
Senior pitcher
Cassidy Pinchorski was brilliant in her fifth win of the season. Pinchorski struck out four batters, allowed five hits and one run. Pinchorski gave up her lone run in the top of the seventh inning with two outs. She had a one-hitter until the top of the sixth inning when Kaylee Hazewski singled to left field. Â
In the top of the first inning, Willenbrock delivered a three-run home run to give Millersville a 4-0 lead. In her second at bat, Willenbrock hit a low liner home run over the center field fence for a 5-0 advantage.
Mascuilli singled in
Allie Janowiak for the sixth unanswered run.
Janowiak led the Marauders at the plate by going 3 for 4 with a double and two singles. Buskey went 2 for 3 with one double and a single.

The Marauders return back to action Sunday, April 15 when they face Clarion at Seaber Softball Stadium. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
