Clermont, Fla. – The Millersville University softball team went 1-1 on day three of its spring break trip with a 13-3 win over Minnesota Crookston in game one and a 4-0 loss to Bemidji State in the second game.
Millersville's record is now 9-6. Two days ago, the Marauders won 7-4 over Bemidji State. This was the first time that Minnesota Crookston and Millersville faced off in a softball game in program history.
Freshman
Faith Willenbrock had two of the team's three hits in the Bemidji State game. Willenbrock's lone hit in the Minnesota Crookston game was a home run. Willenbrock has started in all of the 15 games so far this season and batting a .469 average.
Going 3 for 4 in the first game, freshman
Allie Janowiak improved her hitting streak to seven games but the streak ended in the second game. Janowiak has a batting average of .395, second highest on the team.
VS. MINNESOTA CROOKSTON
Down 3-1 in the third inning, the Marauders went on a 10-run streak that started with junior
Maggie Murphy and senior
Kelsey Campbell hitting home runs to tie the game at 3-3.
R. Buskey knocked a three-run home run to center field--her third homer of the season. Blatt doubled to right center field to score all three runners on base, giving Millersville a 9-3 lead.
Willenbrock ending the high-scoring third inning by drilling a two-run home run--her fifth of the season--to extend the lead to eight.

Macy Koontz finished the game with a double that brought around Janowiak.
K. Buskey had a hit in all of her three at-bats.
Freshman pitcher
Catherine Johnson got her third win of the season today by going three innings, allowing six hits and three runs. Sophomore
Paige Harris came in after the 10-run inning to close the game by striking out four batters and allowing one hit in two innings.
VS. BEMIDJI STATE
Bemidji State's Megan Pehrson had a strong pitching performance, striking out nine Marauders, walking one and allowing three hits.
Sophomore
Mariah Ford and Willenbrock were the only two Marauders to record hits.
The Beavers scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning on a Jessica Burlingame double to right field that scored one. Later in the inning, a wild pitch brought in a run. The third run of the inning came from a Kelsey McAllister RBI double.

The Marauders conclude their spring break trip Friday, March 16 when they play University of Bridgeport at 9 a.m., and Northwood University at 11:30 a.m.
