Cheyney, Pennsylvania -- Freshman
Lauren Lister bested her previous career-high that stood for only 10 days as she scored 30 points during Millersville's 77-70 overtime victory at PSAC East rival Cheyney Saturday afternoon. The Marauders moved into the third spot in the PSAC East standings with the victory.
Lister has been on fire since inserting into the starting line up ten days ago. The reigning PSAC Co-Athlete of the Week entered the overtime period three points short of her previous career-high 23 points. In only her fifth career-start and first career overtime, Lister stepped up and closed the game out for the Marauders with 10 points in only five minutes. Lister continued her trend of accurate shooting as she shot 11-14 from the field while also shooting 8-12 from the free throw line. The guard also set a new career-high in minutes played as she lead the Marauders with 43 minutes on the court.

Janelle Robinson played a key role off the bench during the game and in the overtime period as well. Robinson earned her first double double for Millersville as she scored 14 points and snagged 13 rebounds. The guard made four pivotal shots from the charity stripe while stealing the ball from Cheyney players three times during overtime to help close out the game. Robinson finished the game with a team-high four steals against the Wolves.
While Lister and Robinson were the only players to reach double figures, three Marauders scored eight points each to help power Millersville past Cheyney. Junior

Kendra Bamberger finished one field goal shy of another double double as she finished with 10 rebounds to pair with her eight points scored. Senior
Alayah Hall scored her eight, and she denied opportunities for Cheyney as she snagged six rebounds including four offensive rebounds while also stealing the ball two times.
Millersville had all it could handle as Cheyney played inspired basketball in its homecoming following two months away from Alfred Cope Hall. The Wolves were only down four points entering halftime compared to their first match up this season with the Marauders when they were down 53-27 at the halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the Wolves were tied up with the Marauders and the stalemate returned by the end of regulation. However, the Marauders ratcheted up their defense in the overtime period and held the Wolves to only 3-8 shooting which ended Cheyney's upset bid.
The Marauders' opportunistic play style set them ahead of the Wolves. Despite turning the ball over more than Cheyney, Millersville scored 19 points off turnovers while Cheyney only scored 12 points off turnovers. More impressively, Millersville dominated second chance points with 14 versus Cheyney's three.
Millersville improved to 11-10 overall and 8-9 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. With Millersville's win over Cheyney and Kutztown losing to West Chester Saturday afternoon, the Marauders moved into third place in the PSAC East division. Millersville returns to Pucillo Gymnasium Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. to take on Shippensburg. Fans coming to the Shippensburg game are encouraged to participate in Wing Wednesday.
