ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• Following a three-game road swing in which the Marauders went 2-1, they return to Pucillo Gymnasium on Saturday for a non-conference game against Penn State Fayette. The Marauders are 3-1 at home with the lone loss coming by one point against No. 3-ranked Indiana (Pa.). Of Millersville's five losses, four have come by single digits. Millersville's last three losses have come by a combined total of 13 points. Millersville has also bounced back from losses well this season. It has lost consecutive games just once. Saturday's game is the start of a four-game home stand for the Marauders.Â
• Now 11 games into the season, some trends are beginning to emerge. It is clear that when the Marauder start fast, the result is a win. Millersville is 6-0 when leading at halftime (3-0 vs. PSAC teams), 0-4 when trailing at the half and 0-1 when tied at the half. Millersville is also 4-0 (3-0 PSAC) when shooting at least 50 percent from the floor and is 6-2 (3-1 PSAC) when shooting a higher percentage than its opponent. Defense is a key for the Marauders as well. The Marauders are 4-0 (3-0 PSAC) when holding teams under 70 points and just 2-5 when allowing 70 or more.
• Millersville's defense has drastically improved since last season. The Marauders ranked 15th in the PSAC in scoring, 18th (last) in field goal percentage defense and 18th in field goal percentage defense in 2017-18. So far in 2018-19, the Marauders' 71.0 points per game allowed ranks sixth, and they also rank seventh in both field goal percentage defense and 3-point field goal percentage defense.Â
• Against Pitt-Johnstown, freshman
Jaden Faulkner scored a career-high 20 points while leading the team in assists with four and totaling a career-high four steals. Faulkner played just five minutes total in Millersville's first three games (missing two full games). Since the Nov. 20 game at Jefferson, Faulkner has scored in double-figures five times and is averaging 13.3 points, 3.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.Â
•
Caden Najdawi totaled 14 points and 10 rebounds against Pitt-Johnstown, giving him three double-doubles in his last five games. After scoring a total of nine points in back-to-back games at Jefferson and Wilmington, Najdawi has been a force in the last five games. He has topped 20 points two times and is averaging 15.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and nearly 2.0 blocks per game. Najdawi ranks sixth in the PSAC in blocks per game. He also ranks seventh in field goal percentage.
•
Marcus Adkison's 20.0 points per game average ranks fourth in the PSAC. He also ranks fifth in 3-point field goal percentage and sixth in steals. No Marauder has averaged 20.0 points per game in a season since Gerald Redding in 2001-02.Â
• Millersville has not often played Penn State affiliated programs and owns a 12-3 all-time record including a win over Penn State State College in 1908-09 (25-21). This is the first-ever meeting between Millersville and Penn State Fayette. The only Penn State campus to earn a win over Millersville is Penn State Mont Alto, which won three times from 1906-1909. Millersville is 10-0 vs. Penn State campus teams since. Since 2006-07, the Marauders are 5-0 against Penn State affiliated teams. Last season, the Marauders topped Penn State Berks 114-68.Â
